DO NOT GIVE OR GET ANY VACCINATIONS FOR YOURSELF OR  YOUR KIDS………..

Ok, lets break this down nice and simple.
Formaldehyde is from the purification of the vaccine. 99.9% of which is removed. The reason it doesn’t give a dosage is so minuscule that it can’t be measured without going into picograms. That’s one trillionth of a gram. You breathe in more formaldehyde by driving down a busy road than in a vaccine.
Thimerosal is NOT elemental mercury, It is a molecular compound made up of carbon, hydrogen, mercury, sodium, oxygen, and surfer. This is used as a preservative for the vaccine. Thimerosal is used in a variety of other things, like tattoo ink, facial creams, nasal sprays. It’s toxic to humans only in fairly large quantities but highly toxic to aquatic born organisms like infectious bacteria. In short, it makes sure you don’t get salmonella from a stray bacteria from the chicken embryos. As for the dosage of the Thimerosal. That is the most laughable point in this post. It says 25 mcg, that’s micrograms, or one millionth of a gram. To put this in perspective, a dollar bill weighs roughly 1 gram, the average human eyelash is around 80-90 micrograms. The box also says that it contains a 5ml (milliliter/cc) vial which leads me to my next point.
A little simple math and we find out that 25 mcg = 0.00003 ml and a little more math we find that 0.00003 ml is 0.00006% of 5 ml. Let me put this another way. By the age of 5, an American child weighs about 50-55lbs and their body contains 55 mcg of Uranium. I don’t see any kids running around with radiation sickness, so I think they’re safe with a preservative in them.TL;DR: This is like saying you don’t want your child eating their baked birthday cake because raw eggs were used to make it and you don’t want your child getting salmonella from it.

THANK YOU

“My name is Karen Stollznow. I am an author and researcher with a PhD in Linguistics. In recent months, I wrote an article for a Scientific American Mind blog in which I spoke out about sexual harassment I’d endured from a male colleague for several years. I did this to highlight the wide problem of sexual harassment in the workplace for women, including those in scientific and academic fields. Many people who read the article immediately identified my harasser by name, and spoke publicly about my situation on their own blogs and other social media. They knew who my harasser was because he had recently been disciplined by his employer for his behavior.
As a result, my harasser filed a defamation suit against me, trying to bully me into silence. Although he’s spent thousands of dollars on a lawyer to clear his name, he knew that I could not afford the same. In my attempts to settle out of court he has tried to bully me into signing a retraction, which claimed that I had lied about the whole ordeal, including his ongoing harassment of me, and assaults at one of our professional conferences. Although I didn’t sign the retraction, he posted the document on his very public Facebook page and announced victory over me. This also led to false public edits being made to my Wikipedia page.
I never lied about the harassment I endured and I have evidence and witnesses to attest to my experiences. The only crime I have committed is not being rich enough to defend myself. If you believe in justice and in protecting victims who are bullied into silence, please dig deep and help support this legal fund. I must raise $30,000 in the next two weeks in order to find legal counsel to fight these allegations and clear my own name. If my harasser succeeds in bullying me into silence, it will only serve to embolden harassers, and teach victims that they should never speak up, lest it ruin their lives.
Any money raised through this campaign that is not spent on these legal expenses will be donated to Colorado’s Sexual Assault Victim Advocate Center.
Thank you for listening to my story, and please give as you can. To contact me about this fundraising campaign, email stollznowlegaldefense@gmail.com.”

A moment of silence for the SNK fandom still not getting it right.
Additional information:
The booklet does say der Jäger, which is another translation error. The correct plural would be die Jäger.
Yes, the script is very washed-out in the booklet. It is (barely) readable, though, and it definitely does not read what everyone would expect.
This also makes a lot more sense than “Sie sind das Essen und wir sind die Jäger”. (They are the food and we are the hunters)
I am German, living in Germany, talking German 24/7, and there’s official material as proof, don’t fight me on this. However, I’m not the first person to point this out - just trying to spread the message. It’s completely okay that most people in the fandom didn’t realize the error - nobody expects you to. But now that you know, you might just as well use the actual quote!

Dear internet,

Please give me all the advice you have on writing cover letters. Like, the closer you can get to literally just writing a cover letter for me, the better. Ok bye.

This is how I did the one for my librarian position.  I hope it helps.

Dear Person Hiring for this Job,

I am writing to ask you to consider me for X position.  This is a paragraph about why I want to do X position in general.  It includes at least one personal detail and at least one job skill I consider a particular strength.  It argues that I am passionate about this career.  It is not long.

I have had the opportunity to gain experience in this job by - paragraph about my work or study experience.  It should go from most recent experience back.  Include some details about your responsibilities/achievements in your most recent or most important positions.  If you have mostly study experience, give more detail about what exactly you studied.  If you shadowed people, mention that.  If your work experience is largely unrelated, try to shoehorn some of it in (e.g. I gained experience working with people by).  You can supplement with relevant hobbies.  (But if you do have recent, relevant work experience, you should largely be detailing that.  Only embroider the other stuff if you need to flesh it out.)  This should be the longest paragraph.

I hope you will consider allowing me to do X thing at your company.  This is a few sentences about why I want to work at your company in particular and what I think I could bring.  Try to mention at least one detail from the company website, so they know you visited it.  This is a short paragraph that parallels the first one.

Thank you very much for your time and attention.

Sincerely,

Person You Would Be a Fool Not to At Least Interview

oh my god thank you this is relevant to current interests

Two other points, to challenge what’s being said above a little:

1) Remember that the person reading this cover letter wants to know how you can contribute to the company. Not how excited you are about the position: it’s all about what they gain. Try framing the whole thing in that sense — “You would gain my X awesome skill that would help you Y with your mission.” “Here’s why I’m awesome and a great fit for making your company go better.”

2) At the end, ask for the interview. “I am available at PHONE NUMBER at your convenience. I look forward to speaking with you about this great opportunity soon.” Maybe even say you’ll be following up at a specific time and date. Ask for the job. People respond to that, and it’s a good way to fake confidence until you make it. Ask for the job.

Okay, three points. People reading cover letters get SO BORED going through them. Think about starting off with a story that relates to why you’re interested in the job, or that demonstrates a skill or a strong interest that would make you a good candidate. Be memorable — people remember stories, even (maybe especially) very little ones.

From Nathan Winograd:

PETA’s 2013 statistics from the State Veterinarian with the Virginia Department of Agriculture are now available. According to the records, PETA took in 894 dogs in 2013. They killed 629 of them, or seven out of 10. They also sent 227 to kill shelters, where they were either killed or potentially displaced other dogs who were killed. That’s a high-end 96% rate of killing associated with their intake of dogs. They rehomed only 35, a paltry 4%.They also took in 1,281 cats and killed 1,164, nine out of 10 of them. They sent another 100 to kill shelters, where they were either killed or potentially displaced other cats who were killed. That’s a high-end 99% rate of killing associated with their intake of cats. They rehomed only 16 or 1%.The records can be found here: http://bit.ly/1dL07TuIn the past, PETA was defiant, claiming their job was to kill the young and old, the healthy and sick, even those they themselves described as “adoptable,” “adorable,” “healthy,” and “perfect.” They did so even after promising to find them homes, injecting them with a fatal dose of poison within minutes instead. Ingrid Newkirk has called the overdose of poison a “gift.” Since 1999, roughly 2,000 animals a year have been systematically slaughtered by PETA, well over 90% with only 1% being adopted (and then primarily to staff ). Over 30,000 animals have lost their lives at the hands of PETA and they do not deny it.PETA still takes in and kills about 2,000 animals a year. That has not changed. Now under increasing scrutiny because of the wide ranging success of the No Kill movement and greater exposure of their killing, what has changed is the excuse. Their defiant view that killing even healthy animals is a “gift” has given way to apologia that all the animals they take in and kill are suffering, even while they refuse to provide individual veterinary records for all the animals, even as a newspaper quoted a senior PETA spokesperson as admitting that half the animals they took in last year were healthy, and even as they send animals to kill shelters for possible adoption, putting them either on death row or displacing others in those shelters to be killed. PETA says they have over 3,000,000 supporters and they take in over 30,000,000 dollars a year. With that kind of outreach, surely they could have found those animals a home, with minimal effort. Why send them to shelters which already claim they have no choice but to kill because they get too many as it is? Why? Because killing is what they do and what they believe in.This is the same organization that has called for every shelter to kill every pit bull, even friendly ones: http://bit.ly/XrvcKfThis is the same organization that tells shelters to kill animals, rather than work with rescuers and foster parents: http://bit.ly/ZAnrvQThat claims that animals do NOT have a right to life: http://bit.ly/1lzfQMHThat lied to people and killed healthy animals they promised to find homes for within minutes in the back of a van: www.whypetaeuthanizes.org/death-squad/That has a history of putting 90% of animals to death within 24 hours, including healthy and treatable ones, without making an effort to find them homes:http://bit.ly/1eHkWlDThat put to death puppies they described as healthy, adoptable, adorable and perfect: www.whypetaeuthanizes.org/photos/That celebrates when shelters kill, even after four years of not doing so:http://vimeo.com/48651351And that complains when over 10,000 animals are adopted in a single day, rather than killed: www.nathanwinograd.com/?p=13122Don’t take my word for it. I do. Animals should have a right to life.

I have heard these claims before that PETA euthanizes most of the animals they get; is it really true? Why would they do this? I don’t understand ):

For a couple of reasons: firstly because it takes a lot of work to actually house and care for and adopt out animals and they’re first and foremost a marketing and lobbying group, not an actual shelter. Secondly because they believe that all animals are essentially better off dead than in captivity. They disagree with animal ownership in general including pets and will gladly see them dead instead of giving them to new homes out of a misguided sense of purpose.
This is the same group that gives support to actual literal domestic terrorists who fire bomb research clinics.

I hate PETA with a fervency.

They will poison show dog’s water with Antifreeze because according to them they are better off dead than being shown. Plus they objectify women and many other horrible things. PETA is numero uno on my shit list when it comes to “helping” animals.

PeTA is literally one of the worst organizations ever.

The backlog of rape kits has put justice on hold for a lot of people. Back in 2009, more than 11,000 untested kits were found in a Detroit Police Department storage facility. Some were more than 25 years old.

Mariska Hargitay speaks on some of the issues surrounding the rape kit backlog in Detroit, Michigan. #endthebacklog (x)

It costs between $1,000 – $1,500 to test every single rape kit. There are over 10,000 kits left in Detroit’s rape kit backlog. Your donation can go directly to testing them. Donate to the Detroit Crime Commission’s backlog initiative by clicking here.

I am pretty explicitly anti-police in every respect. But I support Wayne County prosecutor Kym Worthy and her push to catalogue the egregious backlog of unprocessed rape kits in Detroit.

Her work has already identified countless serial rapists in southeast Michigan, and will continue to identify these rapist pieces of shit as she moves forward.

Who cares if this process leads to conviction or not. Just give us the list. We can take care of the rest.

Is is one of those episodes that was so important to the show. Not because it was major plot device but because it was an episode that, for the most part, was random yet hit every viewer right in the heart.

Why did no one remember her?

Does this episode show what humans are capable of or does this show a side of the doctor never witnessed before?

What scared groups of people are capable of really terrifies me.

This is one of the few episodes I flatly REFUSE to watch twice over because it scares the hell out of me.(I’m terrified of the Vashta Nerada but that is a different brand of scary and I’ll watch those again.)

It also makes me ashamed to be human.

Illuminated Code from Space - Macrocosm and Microcosm by Haari Tesla

An experiment with images of space with tilt shift which resulted in nebulae, galaxies, and supernovae transformed into microorganisms.

Macrocosm and microcosm is an ancient Greek Neo-Platonic schema of seeing the same patterns reproduced in all levels of the cosmos, from the largest all the way down to the smallest scale.
