#so fucking much about this is telling #it’s almost like it’s an aborted eye roll like he wanted to scoff this off and not let it get to him #but what was supposed to be an eye roll turned into a sharp inhale and looking away #looking down avoiding eye contact and sherlock holmes avoiding looking at someone? avoiding staring them down the way he always does? #speaks volumes about what he dealt with at uni and you can argue that he brought it on himself with his observing #and telling but you can’t deny hurting for him here because if it bothers him so much that they hated him that he actually reacts #then that says that he tried to fit in and he made an effort but he was just a little too different for them #too far outside of their societal norms and their comfort zone and so they shoved him away #and he gave up on them
